Privacy policy

How Fresh Light Photography LLC collects, uses and protects the information you give the studio when you ask about a session.

Who we are

Fresh Light Photography LLC (“Fresh Light Photography”, “we”, “us”) is a portrait studio at 616 E 20th Street, Houston, Texas 77008. You can reach us at leigh@fresh-light-photography.com or (281) 608-3531. We are the business responsible for the information described here.

What we collect

We only collect what you hand us and what your browser sends on its own. In practice that is:

  • What you type into an inquiry form, whether that form is on this site or is a lead form you filled in inside Facebook or Instagram: your name, email address, phone number, roughly when your baby is due or was born, and anything you write in the open question.
  • What you tell us afterwards in a call, a text or an email about your session.
  • Technical information your browser sends when you open a page: IP address, device and browser type, the pages you viewed, and the advertising identifiers described below.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, government identifiers, or health records through this site.

How we use it

  • To call, text or email you back about the session you asked about.
  • To schedule, confirm and remind you about a consultation or a session.
  • To answer questions and send you the information you asked for.
  • To understand which advertisements and pages lead to real inquiries, so the studio stops paying for the ones that do not.
  • To keep records the studio is required to keep, and to enforce our terms.

Text messages and calls

When you submit an inquiry form you are agreeing that Fresh Light Photography may call and text you at the number you provided about your inquiry, including replies to your questions, scheduling messages and appointment reminders, some sent by an automated system. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You must be 18 or older to opt in. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. No mobile information, phone numbers, or SMS opt-in consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text-message services themselves.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

Who else touches your information

The studio is small and runs on ordinary business software. Your information reaches the following kinds of companies, and only so they can do a job for us:

  • Our customer records and messaging platform, which stores your inquiry and sends the emails and text messages we send you, together with the telecommunications carriers and messaging aggregators that actually deliver a text.
  • Our website and hosting providers, which serve these pages and pass your form submission to us.
  • Our marketing agency, which runs the studio’s advertising and is bound to use your information only for that.
  • Advertising and analytics platforms, described in the next section.

We do not rent or sell your information for money. We do share limited information with advertising platforms as described below, and some state privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to cover that. We would rather say so plainly than make a promise that is technically untrue. Your phone number and your text-message consent are treated differently and are covered by the three statements above.

Advertising and analytics

The studio advertises on Facebook and Instagram. Those platforms and our analytics tools may set cookies or receive information about your visit, including a page view or a completed inquiry, so we can measure which advertisements work and, in some cases, show ads to people who look like our customers. You can limit this in your browser settings, through your device’s advertising controls, and in your ad settings on the platform itself.

We honour Global Privacy Control and similar browser opt-out signals where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry records for as long as we are in touch with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can honour a booking, answer a question about work we did, and meet tax and record-keeping obligations. If you ask us to delete your information we will, except where we are required to keep it.

Your choices

  • Stop the texts by replying STOP to any message from us.
  • Stop the emails using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.
  • Ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by writing to leigh@fresh-light-photography.com. We will not treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of targeted advertising. The same email address is how you exercise them.

Children

This site is for adults. We photograph babies and children at the request of their parents or guardians, and any information about a child reaches us from that adult, never from the child. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13.

Security

We use reputable vendors and ordinary safeguards to protect what you send us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
